Is there a bathroom in the bubble?

No — the bubble itself is a sleeping space. There's a shared service house about 30–50 meters from each bubble with two toilets and showers for guests to use. The service house is centrally located, heated, and open all night.

Will I actually see the Northern Lights?

There's no guarantee. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and depends on solar activity, cloud cover, and the season. Best chances are September through early April, on clear nights, away from city lights. Our locations are dark-sky friendly and your bubble faces the sky directly, so when conditions are right, you'll see them from your bed. We send guests an aurora forecast for their stay night so you know what to expect.

How warm is it inside? Will I freeze?

Each bubble has a heating pad in the bed and the bed is made with a double duvet — your own duvet plus a second one layered on top. When it's really cold outside the bubble interior can be a little chilly, but once you're in bed with the heating pad on and both duvets over you, you'll be properly warm. Guests stay through Icelandic winters at −10°C and below without issue. Bring warm clothes for moving between the bubble and the service house.

Can people see in from outside?

The bubble is transparent so during daylight, yes — though our locations are in private forest with no public access, so practically no one is around. At night with the interior lights on, you'd be visible from outside. With the lights off, you have full privacy and the sky above is at its most beautiful. Each bubble is also positioned with significant distance from neighbors.

What's included when I book direct?

Book direct on buubble.com with the non-refundable rate and the welcome package is included free — your choice of prosecco, local beer, or non-alcoholic (selected at booking), plus Icelandic chocolate, waiting in your bubble. You'll also get your host's direct phone number for anything you need during your stay. The welcome package is exclusive to direct non-refundable bookings — it's not available through Booking.com, Expedia, or other third parties. It can be added to standard-rate bookings for €29.

What's the cancellation policy?

Two options at booking. Standard rate: free cancellation up to 5 days before arrival, no fee — welcome package available as €29 add-on. Non-refundable rate: a lower price, the full amount is charged at booking and isn't refundable for changes or cancellations — welcome package included free. Most direct bookers choose non-refundable for the savings plus the free welcome package.

Can you see the northern lights from the bubble?

From roughly September to April, on dark clear nights, the aurora can appear straight above the dome — you watch from bed. They're a natural phenomenon, so no single night comes with a guarantee.

What about summer, when the nights stay bright?

Iceland's summer nights barely darken — instead of stars you get the long, golden light of the midnight sun. And if it rains, the sound of the drops rolling over the dome is a show of its own.

Where is the bathroom?

There's a service house with two toilets and showers a short walk from the bubble — around 30–50 metres away.

Is food included?

No — there's no breakfast service, and no food or drink for sale on the premises. The villages of Selfoss, Eyrarbakki, Stokkseyri and Hveragerði are close by, and we're happy to recommend local restaurants and markets.

How does check-in work?

There's no formal reception — a host meets you on arrival between 17:00 and 20:00. Please arrange a check-in time with us by email beforehand and keep a working phone with you.

Can we bring children?

Children under 6 can share the bed with their parents; over 6 will need a second bubble.
